Miller Transfer Transports Mega Load From Ocean Terminal at Georgia Port

From Georgia ODOT Press Release:

"SAVANNAH, Ga., - A mega load transport departs Ocean Terminal at the Georgia Port in Savannah at 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, February 27 to begin its two-night trek through Georgia heading for a factory in Alabama.

Heavy hauler Miller Transfer will began moving manufacturing press bed with a gross weight of 575,000 pounds and the trailer/rig is 16 feet wide, 14 feet tall and 244 feet long. The weight is distributed over 19 axles.
The mega load will be traveling on Interstates 16, 75, 285, 85, and 20 and will utilize other state routes. Numerous law enforcement and civilian vehicles will escort Miller during transport.

The convoy is traveling overnight to minimize the impact to traffic. The mega-load will travel to the Forsyth Weigh Station in Monroe County, arriving at approximately 3:05 a.m. and will leave this location, Wednesday night, February 28 at 9 p.m.
