'Tis The Season To Reflect

As 2018 comes to a close, all of us at Miller Transfer want to again express our appreciation for your continued partnership and patronage. Quite simply, it’s because of you that we are a better company. More than just trusting us with your shipments, you have helped direct our service efforts and are the real force fueling our business growth.

Thanks to you, some of our most significant 2018 accomplishments include:

• New Equipment Investments
Over the past year, Miller Transfer has continued to evolve our fleet to provide the best service to our customers. Recent investments include 15 mini-deck trailers with a 14” deck height (28-33’10” in the well) ideal for over-dimensional products weighing 60,000 lbs or less. We also took delivery on a new Faymonville HighwayMAX multi-axle trailer with a deck that adjusts from 53’ to 89’. This extendable on-road heavy-haul trailer also features nine hydraulically steered pendular axles and a technical payload of 246,000 lbs.

Miller Transfer’s newest trailer is an Aspen 50T lowboy stretch trailer that extends 46’. Proven to be more economical than standard multi-axle equipment, it provides a higher capacity compared to standard lowboy stretch equipment.

• Exciting Opportunities and Experience
2018 was a year of great projects. Whether it was a full press line imported from overseas, power buildings for a new natural gas pipeline or a tunnel-boring machine for a local project, these successful moves only added to our breadth and depth of experience – valuable experience that will help you and other Miller Transfer customers with transportation challenges in the future.

One of the more extensive projects included managing the complete delivery of 31 empty containers from the Port of Seattle to Orting, WA. The shipment included four over-height, open-top containers and 27 gauge containers for job site installation. Miller Transfer was involved in the drayage of containers from the Port of Seattle to a storage facility, unloading containers from the chassis, storing containers until needed at the job site, loading trailers for delivery in a specific order as requested for installation, and, finally, the return of empty containers to the port.

• Enhanced Communications
As a result of the 2018 launch of our new website, Miller Transfer online visitors are now better able to discover how we can solve their specialty transportation challenges. The site’s redevelopment offers more timely and simplified company and service news; user-friendly, intuitive navigation; better overall visibility on mobile devices; and increased connectivity with our staff. It has been our pleasure serving you and your company in 2018. We recognize that you have other options in the marketplace, and are humbled in that you have made Miller Transfer your premier choice for specialty transportation services.

“I’m proud of our entire staff – from the dedicated drivers to logistic specialists and in-house engineers – who work to serve this ever-changing and exciting industry,” says Mitch Unger, president. “I also sincerely appreciate the many opportunities you, our customers, have provided, your confidence in us and, most importantly, your efforts in making Miller Transfer a better company. This year and every year.”

As always, Miller Transfer truly values your business and looks forward to many more years together.

Happy holidays!
